Booting vs. Towing — What Determines the Action?

Every property is different. Depending on the property owner or management company’s request, we may:

• Boot the vehicle

• Tow the vehicle immediately

• Or use a combination enforcement approach

🚗 When We Boot a Vehicle

Booting is often used for:

• First-time violators

• Permit-only parking violations

• Non-aggressive enforcement properties

When we apply a boot:

• The vehicle remains on-site.

• A clear notice is placed on the vehicle with contact instructions.

• We typically allow up to 24 hours for the owner to contact us.

If the vehicle owner contacts us within that timeframe and pays the required boot fee, we promptly remove the boot.

If no contact is made within 24 hours, the vehicle may then be towed to impound in accordance with the property’s enforcement agreement and state regulations.

Immediate towing may occur in cases such as:

🚛 Tow Fee

• Charged when a vehicle is physically removed from the property.

• Covers dispatch, transport, equipment, and secure relocation to our storage facility.

🏢 Impound / Storage Fee

• Begins once the vehicle is stored at our secured impound lot.

• Storage is typically charged per day.

• Fees increase the longer the vehicle remains unclaimed.

🔐 Gate Fee

• May apply if a vehicle is retrieved outside normal business hours and a staff member must open the secured lot.

• Covers after-hours access and personnel dispatch.

📄 Administrative Fee

• Covers documentation, compliance processing, title research (if needed), certified mail notifications, and legal reporting requirements.

• Especially applicable in abandonment cases.
